Since the first movie I ever saw in a movie theatre, I was not able to let go of that feeling. I don’t remember anything about the plot, just that I was uncontrollably sobbing. After all, at the bottom of everything I do and why I decided to pursue a career in film is this, the feeling that we can send through a screen and that can reach so many people. Raw and real feelings stay at the bottom of my work and my writing. I want to show reality in the way that it is experienced by humans and how easy it is to relate to it, bringing us together.
I was born and raised in Bucharest, Romania. I moved to California for college and to follow my dreams in the entertainment industry. The work I have done on short films and some feature length films is the base of what I plan to go into in the future – fiction and non-fiction feature films. I want to present this blog as an accumulation of my efforts and to offer a little insight on me as an artist.
My mission is to become a creative and thoughtful leader, to guide people through their art and expression. I want to bring to life stories that bring about visual artistry and powerful emotions. I like to think of my storytelling as both a way of confrontation and healing, where the truth can be freely discovered and where beauty and pain coexist. I am continuing to develop my skills everyday and I want to keep striving for greatness. My main focus as a leader is to guide with passion and compassion and to be a place where all my peers feel comfortable coming to and expressing opinions.
As I develop my brand and my career I stay focused on values that are important to me such as creativity, collaboration, resilience, integrity, and respect. These are non-negotiable and I keep them in any work that I do whether it is a film, project, or pitch. Most importantly I focus on respect between everyone in my team or community and I promote this value thoroughly throughout all my work. I try to surround myself with people who share similar values as this is an important factor that makes or breaks teams, in my opinion. Hard work and resilience is extremely important when working on common goals. This industry is not an easy place to thrive in and it is important to practice these and be ready for hard work. Moreover, integrity is at the core of my work at what stands out in an industry focused on profit over purpose. Every single one of my projects has a purpose extremely meaningful to me and that I believe needs to be told and shared. Also, it is very important to me that I keep efficiency within my work and the collaboration with my peers. This is a fast paced place that requires much attention to detail and quick problem solving, which is something I appreciate most about my peers.
